Matt Schuber (Webster, NY) led Colgate with two unassisted goals but Shaun Taylor scored three to lift Boston University over the Raiders 4-2 in Saturday night action at Nickerson Field.
Colgate scored first after Schuber missed a shot, but found the net on his on own rebound, to gain an early 1-0 lead just six minutes into the game. Junior Shaun Taylor responded with back-to-back goals to give the Terriers a one point lead with 14 minutes left in the first half. Schuber found the net with just two seconds remaining in the fist half to tie the game 2-2.
Boston senior Jon Jonsson opened second half scoring with his first goal of the season to give the Terriers a 3-2 lead. Taylor then made his third goal of the night to guarantee Boston University a win against the Raiders.
Colgate goalkeeper
David Cappuccio (Pittsford, N.Y.) had six saves while Boston’s Hrafn Davidsson had two. The Raiders were outshot 16-11 in the loss which drops them to 3-2-2 overall. The Terriers improve to 2-3-2 on the season.
Colgate will travel to Vermont to face the Catamounts on Monday, Sept. 22 at 4 p.m.
